Tig and her dad go to the swimming pool for her lesson. Tig is nervous, as it's her first swimming lesson, but Woolly convinces her that it will be great fun. When they arrive at the pool, they meet Miss Shimmer, Tig's swimming instructor, who is kind and encouraging.
Tig gets changed into her swimwear and heads to the poolside, where she sees many other children splashing and having fun. Despite Woolly's encouragement, Tig is still afraid of the water and is nervous about getting in. Miss Shimmer reassures her that it's okay, and helps her to slowly get into the water.
At first, Tig is hesitant and clings tightly to the side of the pool. Woolly reminds her that she needs to let go and trust that she can swim. Slowly but surely, Tig begins to paddle and kick her way across the pool, with Woolly cheering her on from the side.
However, when Tig's dad comes to the side of the pool to take a picture, Tig stops swimming and gets nervous once again. Woolly reminds her that it's okay, and encourages her to keep trying. Miss Shimmer comes over and offers some advice for how to swim with her dad nearby.
Tig tries again, and with some encouragement from her dad and Miss Shimmer, she manages to swim over to the side of the pool where they are standing. She is delighted with herself for overcoming her fear, and her dad is proud of her for trying so hard.
As Tig gets out of the pool, she sees some other children jumping in and splashing each other, and she wants to join in. However, she is afraid of the water again, and Woolly reminds her that she needs to trust herself.
Miss Shimmer offers to help Tig learn how to jump in safely, and together they practice. Tig is a little hesitant at first, but with some encouragement and guidance, she is soon jumping in and splashing around with the other children. She is thrilled to have overcome her fear again, and excited to show Woolly what she has learned.
As they leave the pool, Tig promises to come back and practice more, and says that she can't wait for her next swimming lesson. Woolly tells her that he is proud of her for facing her fears and trying her best, and that he will always be there to support her, no matter what.
