Konjanik is a movie based on the works of Ivan Aralica about early 18th century political conflicts between the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Venice. The movie illustrates the issues the native Croations face by living between two empires and divided amongst two faiths in Catholicism and Islam. The film focuses specifically on the region between the borders of Bosnia and Dalmatia, an area where the political conflict was known to be one of the more extreme tensions that occurred in the timeframe.
