'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' To Donate Premiere Earnings to Charity (Watch the New Featurette)

Normally, pirates are all about plundering. But the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" plans to do just the opposite: it will donate to charity.

The big premiere for the fourth installment in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series is scheduled for May 7th at Disneyland. Proceeds from the ticket sales for the big Disney event will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which helps to promote education, health, arts involvement and life skills for children.

Additionally, Pirate Brands (which sells the all-natural "Pirate's Booty" line of snacks) will be providing munchies at the event and will donate a percentage of their sales.

The chairman of Walt Disney Studios, producers "Pirates of the Caribbean," released this statement:

"The 3D World Premiere of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' at Disneyland Park is going to be our biggest and best yet. Disney has been a longtime supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and we’re thrilled to share such an extraordinary event with this important organization that gives so many kids a chance to embark on their own adventures."

Disney also released a new featurette for the film, which you can watch below.
