Press Start is a 2007 comedy film that parodies classic video games of the 80s and 90s. Directed by Ed Glaser and produced by Dark Maze Studios, the film follows Zack Nimbus (Joshua Stafford), a video game character resurrected by the evil sorcerer Count Vile (Al Morrison) to defeat the most dangerous villain in the video game world, the Boss (Peter A. Davis). Along the way, Zack is joined by Sam (Lauren Chambers), a human girl who has been sucked into the video game world.

The film opens with a hilarious spoof of The Legend of Zelda, in which the game's hero is defeated by the Boss. After this, the game's credits appear on the screen and the film's title is revealed. Zack Nimbus is then introduced as the star of the hit video game Nimbus.

In the video game world, Zack is living a peaceful life until he is summoned by Count Vile, who has plans to use Zack to defeat the Boss and take over the video game world. Count Vile resurrects Zack, who was killed by the Boss in the beginning of the film, and sends him on a quest to collect the items needed to defeat the Boss.

As Zack begins his quest, he meets Sam, a girl who has been sucked into the video game world by accident. Together, they set out to defeat the Boss and save the video game world from Count Vile's evil plans.

Press Start is a clever parody of classic video games, including Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, and Mortal Kombat. The film is filled with references to these games, as well as clever Easter eggs that fans will appreciate. The characters in the film also parody classic video game archetypes, including the typical hero, villain, and damsel in distress.

The film's writing is hilarious, with witty one-liners and comedic situations that will have viewers laughing throughout the entire movie. The acting is also top-notch, with each actor perfectly embodying their character and bringing them to life on screen.

One of the highlights of the film is the special effects. The filmmakers use a combination of green screen and practical effects to create a believable video game world. The film's fight scenes are especially visually impressive, with each hit and punch feeling like it was pulled straight from a classic fighting game.

Overall, Press Start is a must-see film for video game fans and anyone who loves a good comedy. The film is a perfect example of how to successfully parody classic video games, and it is clear that the filmmakers have a deep love and respect for the medium. Press Start is a hilarious, action-packed adventure that is sure to entertain even the most die-hard video game fan.
