From 'Twilight' to 'Snow White': Kristen Stewart Confirmed for Lead via Twitter

You usually don't want to publicize a casting confirmation before the studio announces it, but sometimes you just can't help yourself...especially when you're the screenwriter and producer for the upcoming movie "Snow White and the Huntsman" and the confirmed actress for the lead role is "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart!

Palek Patel, who wrote the "Snow White" script and is producing the film, tweeted earlier today that Kristen Stewart is a go for the title role even though an official announcement won't be made until next week, as negotiations are still in progress. We would have to assume that Patel knows she's in for sure, so she has probably already given a verbal commitment or some kind of semi-binding contract.

Also rumored for the film, but not confirmed, are Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron.  Mortensen is also being courted by Christopher Nolan, Zack Snyder, and the rest of the folks working on the new "Superman" reboot, whose schedule conflicts with that of "Snow White." Mortensen will likely have to choose one or the other.

Patel also announced via Twitter that production would start on August 1st in London, Scotland and Germany. The tweets have since been removed from Patel's Twitter feed, as the studio probably wasn't very happy about news getting out before negotiations were completed. Of course, things are rarely set in stone in Hollywood, so unless Stewart has actually signed, things could change before negotiations end next week.
