Reports: Kristin Stewart Says No to Lois Lane Role, Olivia Wilde in Talks

Lois Lane? No thanks.

Producers of "Superman: Man of Steel" recently announced that Henry Cavill from the BBC TV series “The Tudors” has been cast in the lead role as Clark Kent in the new film, which will be directed by Zack Snyder. Now to find his Lois Lane.

Kristin Stewart was apparently the top choice for the role, but decided to say "meh."

According to reports, “Twilight” star Stewart met with director Snyder and his wife Deborah about the role as Superman's love interest, but she ended up turning down the role because she preferred to star on smaller, more independent films.

Sounds like her loss may be Olivia Wilde's gain. The “Tron: Legacy” actress is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros. to play the role.

Latino Review claims that a reliable source, who is currently working in the upcoming Olivia Wilde and Eric Bana movie “Kin,” confirmed that the actress already tested for the Lois Lane role.

Many movie critics like Wilde as Lois Lane opposite Henry Cavill because they are almost of the same age (27) and because Wilde delivered an outstanding performance in her latest movie "Tron:Legacy."

Other actresses who are being considered for the Superman’s leading lady are Jessica Biel, Dianna Agron, Rachel McAdams, and Malin Akerman. Many critics and fans say McAdams is a perfect fit for the role despite the fact that she is older than Henry Cavill.

Does age matter? Should Kristin Stewart have passed on the role? Who would make a better Lois Lane - Olivia Wilde or Rachel McAdams?

Whoever lands Lois Lane’s character, one thing is so sure… Superman fans are very excited to see their super hero on the big screen again.
