We've Got a Hunch: Will Two-Face Appear In 'The Dark Knight Rises' After All?

In the days following "The Dark Knight"'s assault on popular culture, one question was on everyone's mind - what happened to Harvey Dent at the end there?

We saw him lying in the street, having taken quite a fall from a parking structure, but it was a fall that was theoretically survivable, and since the whole funeral was a bit of a sham anyway - remember all that "the hero Gotham needs or deserves or whatever" business? - who's to say Harvey wasn't alive somewhere?

I remember there was such debate about this that someone eventually grabbed the novelization of the film and found the words "Harvey Dent was dead" before anyone had a definite belief.

Well, this wouldn't be the first time nobody cared about what a novelization said. Aaron Eckhart has long denied his involvement with "The Dark Knight Rises," but in an interview with CBS, his answer actually trended towards...well maybe not?

The reporter put the question to him in no uncertain terms - whether it's a flashback, someone's imagination, or part of the ongoing story, you're not in "The Dark Knight Rises" in any form, correct? Eckhart had a big smile on his face when he answered, "I'm not? I could not possibly say."

Eckhart, a too-often underrated actor, carried the emotional heft of writer/director Chrisopher Nolan's blockbuster, so finding a way to bring him back would give audiences a lot to latch onto since The Joker is off the table.

Eckhart's responseĀ could be sheer burn-out after being asked this question non-stop since "The Dark Knight" came out, but something tells me Nolan has yet another trick up his sleeve.
