End of Days Indeed: Arnold Puts Film Career on Hold to Work on Personal Matters

Wow, it seems like just the other day, Arnold Schwarzenegger was lining up role after role in film after film. Oh, shoot, no, that's right - the other day was when the former governor dropped the bombshell that he fathered a child with his former housekeeper. Oh, how I do forget these things...

Not forgetting these things? Everyone involved with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In a written statement broke on The Wrap, his office said the following:

"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes 'Cry Macho,' 'The Terminator' franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides."

Mere months after telling his reps at CAA to start sending him scripts, Schwarzenegger has now told them to put everything on hold.

As the piece on The Wrap points out, "Cry Macho" would be especially tough for him to pull off and audiences to swallow, as it has him as the father figure to an 11-year-old boy.

Not affected by this? The one thing nobody, and I mean nobody wanted - that "Governator" animated show.

The producers, insanely enough, believe the project "is fictional and stands on its merits.... The series stands on its own and is going forward as such." It's one thing to say that, though, and have the national viewership accept that. When it was announced, producer Stan Lee proudly proclaimed, "We're using all the elements of Arnold's life," and yes, even specified, "We're using his wife." Five weeks later Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver separated.

Naturally, there will be projects waiting for Schwarzenegger when he decides to return. It took days, if not minutes, for them to be on his desk the second he said "go" this time, and while scandals destroy politicians, they merely delay actors.

Perhaps he'll end up making a sequel of "The Pump."
