Watch The Reality of the Virtual
"A cinematic experience of Žižek's interpretations of reality and virtual reality."
- 2004
What seems real really isn't, and what seems a fallacy is what's true. That's the premise of the 2004 documentary film The Reality Of The Virtual. Filmed in an entire day by Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Zizek, the movie consists of seven long camera takes of Zizek as he sits in front of a bookshelf. Zizek carries out a discourse, regarding "...real effects produced, generated, by something which does not yet fully exist, which is not yet fully actual." Examples of how the mind works, such as psychoanalysis, popular cultural events, and sociology abound throughout. A movie that's perfect for those who are intrigued by the wonders of the human mind.
