Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) Crashes Million Dollar Car, Ends Up in Hospital

Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) Crashes Million Dollar Car, Ends Up in Hospital English actor Rowan Atkinson, who plays the hapless character Mr. Bean in movies and on TV, got in an accident today while driving one of the rarest and most expensive cars in the world. He went to the hospital for a shoulder injury sustained during the crash.

According to E!, "the 56-year-old Atkinson, an avid sports car enthusiast who races in his spare time, was driving his McLaren F1 supercar when he lost control of the vehicle on a wet road and smashed into a tree and then a lamppost around 7:30 p.m. outside of Haddon, a hamlet 85 miles north of London. No other cars were involved in the accident."

Update: UK tabloids are reporting that Atkinson was recently seen leaving the hospital, and he was apparently able to walk out himself without help.

According to other reports, the million dollar McLaren actually caught fire after Atkinson escaped and was reportedly able to flag down other motorists. Bet when he hopped out of the car, Atkinson was a real "jumping Bean." Get it, "jumping Bean?" Sorry.

Funny enough, Atkinson has had better luck in the past with driving cars fast. He came on the British show "Top Gear" recently and managed to break the Celebrity Speed Record for those who have appeared on the show and raced on their test track. Fortunately for everyone, he did NOT attempt to do so from the roof of the car.
