Is the New Trailer for 'Vampire Diaries' a 'True Blood' Ripoff? (VIDEO)

It should come as no surprise when "The Vampire Diaries" tries to emulate "True Blood." After all, they're both shows about vampires with love triangles.

So when you see the newest preview for "The Vampire Diaries" season three, your reaction might be "sure, that makes sense." Or, you might squeal with delight. Depends how much of a fan you are, I suppose.

The new promo features our major players in a sort of dark Eden, as words like "temptation" and "seduction" flash up on the screen along with images of  the characters holding apples, pulling at Elena, going for her neck, and Elena getting very angry at the ground with a dagger.

The theme here is that "everybody wants a piece" of Elena. That might bring back some memories of the ad campaign for "True Blood" season four, which had a poster of Sookie surrounded by Bill, Eric and Alcide, each of them with a hand on her.
