The snowy fields and frozen lakes provide a sense of isolation and desolation, while the darkness of the film's interior scenes adds to the sense of danger and mystery.

The film's score, composed by Peter Calandra, is also a standout, providing a haunting and melancholy backdrop to Jack's journey. From the opening notes of the main theme, the music sets the tone for the film and enhances the emotional impact of the story.
