Watch A Chess Dispute

Two friends at an outdoor café enjoy a game of chess (at least for a moment) in this British comedic short from Robert Paul, one of his country's leading film producers, operating under the auspices of his studio, Paul's Animatograph Works. The filmmaker's use of the stationary camera allows the imagination of the viewer to complete the slapstick mayhem that ensues just beyond the frame. - Robert Avila
