"A Chrysanthemum Bursts in Cincoesquinas" is a Spanish-language film set in South America during the early 20th century. A young couple flee a civil war and leave their son Erasmo in the care of a nurse. Years later, the adult Erasmo seeks to avenge his foster mother's murder. That will be difficult, since the killer is a wealthy politician. Erasmo, however, does find allies willing to help him -- but he also finds enemies.
