Two best friends are tested when they fall in love with the same girl. Jose and Renaldo are born in the same hospital on the same day, and quickly become friends as they live next door to one another and their windows face one another. Jose and Renaldo become best friends, and hunt for frogs together at night, to sell the legs to a local merchant. The friendship continues into their teenage years, when after the arrival of a new student, Maria, they both encounter her and become infatuated. A friendship forged over years may be able to overcome infatuation.
