Are the Kids Alright is a gripping documentary about the mentally ill particularly within Texas and the dwindling access to care. The maker of the film was granted an unprecedented amount of access to the various institutions which support and care for the mentally ill youth and expose much of the fallacy surrounding the help that they are supposedly receiving. As a result, the powerful documentary received an Emmy in 2005.
