Watch Artists and Orphans: A True Drama

This documentary short focuses on the surprising discovery that a theatre group from New York City called Our Theater, under the direction of actress Sharon Gans, makes when they travel to attend a festival in Georgia in the Soviet Union. Despite the insistence of the country's First Lady that Georgia has no orphans, they discover that the ravages of civil war have in fact left thousands of youngsters orphaned and homeless. Gans and several friends decide to gather the money and support necessary to build an orphanage in time to protect the youngsters from the upcoming brutal winter weather.
