Watch Bab al-Makam

Living across from a historic citadel of Aleppo, thirty-year-old Imane sees her life for the past ten years as incomplete. She has done little with her life other than care for her husband and tend to their children. Her husband, Adrian is a good man and a hard worker but does not have time for Aleppo and the family. His job as a civil service worker does not make him much money, so he takes a second job as a taxi driver which keeps him away from home most of the time.

One day as Imane hears the singing of a legendary Egyptian singer, Oum Kalsoum it changes her life. Listening to the music changes her outlook on her life, her husband and all those in her family changes drastically as she is consumed by the music. Her brothers think she has gone mad and decide to follow Imane and see what has changed her.
