Back to the Outback is a 2021 computer-animated adventure film full of laughs, action, and heart. The movie centers around the story of a group of Australian animals seeking to escape from captivity and return to their homeland in the Outback. The main characters in the movie are a diverse group of animals, including a snake named Maddie (Miranda Tapsell), a lizard named Zoe (Isla Fisher), a tarantula named Pretty Boy (Tim Minchin), a chameleon named Cranky (Eric Bana), and a thorny devil named Frank (Guy Pearce). Although they are all confined to a zoo, they have different motivations for wanting to go back to the Outback.

Maddie, for instance, was taken away from her family by humans and wants to be reunited with them. Zoe is the last surviving member of her species, and she wants to find a new place to live where she can thrive. Pretty Boy, who is a talented singer, wants to be famous and be appreciated for more than his looks. Cranky is constantly grumpy and bitter and wants to live anywhere that isn't a zoo. Frank, on the other hand, is a gentle soul who loves to dance and just wants to be free.

However, the group discovers that escaping the zoo is easier said than done. Their escape plan is foiled by a determined new zookeeper named Chaz (Keith Urban), who is convinced that he can make these animals the stars of the zoo. But when he pushes them too hard, the animals find themselves forced to take matters into their own hands.

The group sets off on a journey through the Australian wilderness, encountering many obstacles and new friends along the way. One of their first stops is at a roadhouse run by a group of kangaroos. They are initially apprehensive about the animals, but soon come to realize that they have a lot in common.

As they make their way through the dangerous outback, the group also runs into a group of poisonous toads who want to capture them and sell them to the zoo. The toads are led by a ruthless leader named Marcella (Rachel House) who has an army of bumbling minions at her disposal. The animals must use all of their skills and wits to outsmart Marcella and her followers.

Back to the Outback is full of humor, action, and great music. Pretty Boy's musical performances, in particular, are a highlight of the movie. The animation is bright and colorful, with lots of attention to detail. The voice acting is excellent, with Eric Bana and Tim Minchin in particular doing a fantastic job in their roles.

Overall, Back to the Outback is a charming and entertaining movie that is sure to delight both children and adults. Its message of the importance of being free and true to oneself is delivered in a fun and engaging way that will leave audiences feeling inspired.

Back to the Outback is a 2021 kids & family movie. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.5 and a MetaScore of 58.
