Watch Before the Mountain Was Moved

This Oscar nominated documentary tells the story of how a dedicated group of individuals from within and outside West Virginia fought a battle to halt strip mining that had begun in Raleigh County. The dangers of this form of mining are highlighted within the documentary, which shows how a mined area of land quickly turns to mud and becomes unstable during adverse weather conditions. The human story of the diverse group of activists is also highlighted as they move from concerned citizens to all out campaigners traveling to the state capitol of Charleston.
