Zorg lives a simple life on a beach shack, working as a handyman to support himself and writing during his free time. He narrates the story of his life with Betty, a beautiful and spirited woman with whom he begins a passionate relationship. Betty finds some of his writing and tries to inspire him to become a published author instead of settling for menial labor. Although the two are very much in love their lives are affected by Betty's unpredictable temper and increasing mental instability as she veers between violent outbursts and episodes of depression.
