The story of a love triangle that turns into a murder mystery. Black Heart is a modern cautionary tale, an urban drama examining the relationships that tie hearts into sometimes stifling bonds with unhealthy dependencies, all with predictable results. What is pleasantly unpredictable is the effect the deft hand of Mr. Kenya Cagle (dubbed The Oscar Micheaux of the 21st century) will have on this production. In his role of producer, co-director, there's no telling who will end up in back of or in front of the camera. His decision to use budding, young writer/director, Stephanie Walker, nicknamed "The Task Master," on this his 30th feature film, is one of those deft moves. "There is no law that says you need a giant ego to be a successful filmmaker. Sure, I care that my name is associated with a quality project, I want to be associated with "quality" and there's glory for a producer when a film has success. But if I spread the work around, I spread around the burden of making a production successful. The glory should follow the good work. I believe in Stephanie as a promising writer/director, I support her; we collaborated on scene, dialog and overall continuity so there's no chance to ruin the work; on the contrary, we enhance the work by adding her fresh take on the story's point of view...," says Cagle. Unusual to find such modesty in a veteran film producer.
Black Heart is a drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 43 minutes.
