Watch Breaking the Language Barrier

This film is a short American documentary that shows how one group of foreigners must adapt to English as their first language. People were not so tolerant of immigrants in the 1960s or with other cultures. This group of refugees strive to meet the demands of the American culture, trying to overcome the barriers of language to gain employment, housing, and citizenship. They have been through a lot to get to the United States and they will do what it takes to become citizens. Meanwhile, they try holding onto their traditions, values, and way of life, by breaking the language barrier.
