In the Haitian Creole community of South Florida, interracial romances are still frowned upon. So, when fair-skinned Alan, falls for Minoushka, a beautiful and gorgeous black Creole woman, centuries of ancestral and familial decorum manage to creep through. As the romance blossoms, everyone turns against it. Even Alan's best friend, Paul, a self-loathing black man, finds it appalling that his fair-skinned friend has fallen for a black woman. Things take a turn for the worse when Minoushka's dad, Armand, a hardcore racist, chases away his little girl's 'colonialist' boyfriend.
