In the 2013 horror-comedy film Chastity Bites, we follow the misadventures of high school journalist Leah (Allison Scagliotti) as she investigates the mysterious abstinence cult run by the beautiful and enigmatic Liz Batho (Louise Griffiths). Liz convinces impressionable teenage girls to join her abstinence movement and follow her strict rules for purity, all while she feeds off their blood to maintain her youth and beauty.

Leah, skeptical of the cult's claims and alarmed by their growing influence in the community, starts to dig deeper into Liz's past and uncovers a long history of similar cults led by the same immortal woman. With the help of lesbian best friend and fellow journalist Katharine (Francia Raisa), Leah starts to unravel the secrets of the Bathory family and their vampiric legacy.

The movie is a tongue-in-cheek take on the classic vampire mythos, with plenty of silly humor and over-the-top gore. The character of Leah is a witty and likable protagonist, with plenty of sass and snark to keep the audience engaged. She's not afraid to speak her mind and call out the hypocrisy of those around her, making her a refreshing departure from the typical horror movie victim.

Katharine, on the other hand, is more of a supporting character, but still provides plenty of comic relief and serves as Leah's loyal companion throughout the movie. She's a fun and bubbly personality, but also has a sharp wit that helps her stand out from the crowd.

Louise Griffiths is perfect as Liz Batho, the seductive and manipulative cult leader. She exudes a dangerous charm that draws in the young girls under her spell, but also has a fierce determination to preserve her youth and beauty at any cost. The scenes where she feeds on her victims are suitably creepy, with plenty of blood and gore to keep horror fans satisfied.

The movie also addresses some serious social issues, such as the harmful effects of abstinence-only education and the pressure girls face to conform to unrealistic beauty standards. The Bathory family's obsession with purity and youth serves as a metaphor for these societal pressures, and the movie does a good job of highlighting the dangers of these harmful messages.

Overall, Chastity Bites is a fun and entertaining horror-comedy that manages to balance humor and horror with some important social commentary. It's not going to win any awards for originality or cinematic craftsmanship, but it's a solid addition to the vampire movie canon that provides plenty of laughs and scares along the way. If you're a fan of quirky horror flicks that don't take themselves too seriously, then Chastity Bites is definitely worth checking out.

Chastity Bites is a 2013 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 33 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.6.
