Chateau Christmas is a 2020 Hallmark Channel original movie that stars Merritt Patterson, Luke Macfarlane, and Jesse Hutch. This holiday romance centers around the character Margot (played by Patterson), a successful concert pianist who has just wrapped up a performance in a major city. Feeling lost and disconnected from her family and her music, she decides to take some time off and return home to her family's vineyard in France for Christmas. Upon her arrival, Margot is greeted by her family, including her father (played by Tom Kemp) who has recently suffered a heart attack and is in need of some help getting the vineyard ready for the holiday season. She also comes face to face with her former love, Jackson (played by Macfarlane), who is now the winemaker at the vineyard. Jackson is surprised to see Margot, as she had left without a word years earlier in pursuit of her music career. Despite their past issues, Margot and Jackson find themselves thrown together in planning a Christmas concert to honor Margot's father. As they work together, old feelings begin to resurface and they begin to confront the issues that caused Margot to leave in the first place. However, Margot's successful music career and the possibility of a big break in Vienna threaten to pull them apart once again. As preparation for the concert continues, the vineyard is visited by a famous wine critic, Spencer Sutherland (played by Hutch), who offers to promote the vineyard's wine in his magazine. However, his true intentions may not be so innocent, and Margot and Jackson must work together to protect the vineyard's reputation and prevent any potential sabotage. As the big day approaches, Margot must make a decision about her future: pursue her music career and leave Jackson and the vineyard behind, or stay and build a life with the man she loves. Overall, Chateau Christmas is a heartwarming holiday romance that touches on themes of love, family, and pursuing one's passions. The beautiful scenery and festive atmosphere of the French vineyard make for a cozy and charming setting, and the chemistry between the lead actors is palpable. The addition of a wine tasting and a potential saboteur adds an element of suspense and keeps the plot from becoming too predictable. Hallmark fans will not be disappointed with this feel-good Christmas movie.
