Cities of the World: Bangkok is a tourism/traveling special that was released in 2009. Bangkok is the capital and most popular city of Thailand. The city was discovered in the 15th century and was known then as Siam. Bangkok has many Buddhist temples and the Grand Palace is the well-known tour site of the city. The Grand Palace was built in 1782 and still is used in special events. Bangkok is a city of celebration. Throughout the year, there are festivals and parties which Bangkok celebrates through music and fireworks. The purpose is to continue the traditions that honors their ancestors from long ago.
