Cocaine Cowboys is a crime film that is presented in the form of a drama-documentary. The film was released in 2006. The film involves a group of cocaine barons who attempt to setup shop in the city of Miami. The barons bring the plague of drugs to the east coast of America, and a brand of violence to the city of Miami that have not been seen since Chicago during the prohibition era. This resulted in Miami gaining the reputation of being the 80s drug capital of the country. Cocaine Cowboys was directed by Billy Corben. The film is composed of interviews of major players in the 80’s drug trade, and is overshot with a combination of stock, archival, and reenactment footage. It features interviews with Jon Roberts, Al Sunshine, Sam Burstyn, Mickey Munday, and Bob Palumbo. It features a large amount of archival footage of Griselda Blanco.
