Watch Culinary Travels Italian Classics Italy-Pio Cesare Winery-Piedmont/Il Poggione Winery-Tuscany

Two historic regions of Italy-two incredible wineries representing the best of traditional Italian winemaking with all the promise of the future. At Pio Cesare, we'll tour the vineyards and sample the wines, includingsublime Barolos and Barbarescos, with the winery owner, Pio Boffa. In Southern Tuscany, we'll expore the region of Brunello di Montalcino where we find Il Poggione, one of the area's great estates. More nearly 100 years Il Poggione has been crafting its wines, some of the best expressions of the native Sangiovese grape anywhere. We'll sample those wines, learn of the history of the estate, and cap it all of with an incredible six-course luncheon pairing the wines of Il Poggione to the cuisine of the region.
