Watch Desert Adaptations/Aquifer Ecosystems

Program 1: Desert regions comprise 20% of the Earth's surface, with semi-arid desert biomes adding another 15%. Deserts receive less than 10 inches of rain annually, and this aridity creates varied, unique adaptations among plants and animals. Program 2: Aquifers contain more of the fresh water on Earth than all the surface lakes and rivers combined. They are found wherever subsurface materials are porous enough to contain water. Underground water is now being depleted by humans at a greater rate than it is being replenished, creating a potential environmental danger for humans as well as for world habitats.
