DragonBall Evolution is an action/adventure movie that debuted in 2009. This film stars Justin Chatwick and Emmy Rossum. The movie is based on the popular cartoon/manga Dragon Ball Z that was created by Akira Toriyama. The movie follows a young man named Goku (Justin Chatwick) who is a martial arts student. He tries his best to fit in with the rest of his class mates, but always seems to be shunned and made into an outcast. Unknown to Goku there is an evil alien named Piccolo who has been released from his imprisonment. In the past, this alien has tried to come to Earth to take over the planet (and enslave the humans). Piccolo's plan is to use the Dragon Balls (which are seven mystical orbs that will grant anyone their greatest desire). While Piccolo prepares his return, Goku is trying to make it through his birthday in one piece. He is constantly harassed and put down by other kids in his school, until one day he is offered an invitation to Chi Chi's birthday party. Goku has a huge crush on Chi Chi, but never finds away to tell her. At the party, Goku gets into a confrontation with a few boys that unveils Goku's secret powers to control and manipulate chi (of life energy). After leaving the party frustrated, Goku returns to his home, only to find it destroyed and his grandfather (Gohan) near death. With Gohan's final breath, he tells Goku to seek out Master Roshi, who can help him with his training and defeat Piccolo. After meeting up with Bulma (Emmy Rossum) they travel into the city and find the martial arts master and he trains Goku on his Chi usage. Master Roshi also tells Goku about an ancient evil named the Ozaru that will awaken during the next solar eclipse.
