This documentary-drama (45 minutes runtime) is a story about five children of UN ambassadors from around the world. They are called by earth to imagine a new sustainable future for our global society. The film begins in the UN rose garden where the children (9 years old) are playing happily with an earth ball, unaware of threats to our global systems, relationships, and lifestyles as the climate changes. As they are playing, the children discover a magic portal into which they are drawn. Before them appears a dark ominous sphere. When they approach the sphere, it awakens to greet them to the earth's center. Their goal in the earth's center (limbo space) is to work together to reduce the global carbon footprint. They accomplish this aim through their free exchange of stories from regions they know well and experiences traveling the world with their parents. The composite of their stories and their collective decisions to scale existing technologies and sustainable designs in different parts of the world leads to a steady decline of global carbon. Through the tangible carbon savings displayed on an earth counter (on screen), the children become more and more encouraged and enthusiastic about winning the carbon challenge as they reach a point of celebration at 350ppm. At this climax moment, the earth delivers a message to the children to which they urgently must respond. Earth systems have already reached an urgent tipping point in the meantime and only a global response to halt also the ongoing destruction and degradation of natural environments will avoid an irreversible climate crisis. The essence of the film is about envisioning a positive sustainable future, exchanging knowledge and value to move toward that future, establishing a right relationship to one another, and achieving harmony with natural systems along that journey.
