Falling for Grace is a film directed, produced, written and starred by the multifaceted Fay Ann Lee. The romantic story revolves around Grace, a Chinese American investment banker who wants to be accepted in the exclusive and privileged circle of New York High society. She was raised in Chinatown by her working class Chinese family. Grace desired the opportunity of having her social status elevate, when she was invited to an elite party in which she was confused with a famous Hong Kong fashion designer. At the reception, Grace meets Andrew Barrington Jr., and from the moment they connected, they fell for one another. Andrew is a notable attorney who is working a case of labor exploitation against a sweatshop network in Chinatown where Grace's parents still live. Unknowingly to Andrew, Grace's mother (Ma) also works at one of those clandestine sewing factories he is pursuing. Initially Grace wants to clarify the confusion they made about her real identity, but she decides to continue with the lie just for fun, without knowing what repercussions could come out from this. Andrew surprisingly comes across Grace in Chinatown. Grace pretends that she's volunteering to help the Chinese community, which includes her parents. Eventually, Grace is accidentally exposed by her brother, changing her relationship with Andrew. At the same time, Grace uncovers a working relationship between the bank she works for and the sweatshop network that Andrew is investigating. Grace decides to help Andrew by gathering important evidence to expose the network even if in the process, Andrew's father will be exposed as well. Falling for Grace is full of situations in which Grace's personal and work life will take a different path from here on out.
