Frankenstein 80, released in 1972, is a unique take on the classic Frankenstein myth. Directed by Mario Mancini, the film stars John Richardson as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, who is obsessed with creating life from dead tissue. The film opens with a scene of Victor Frankenstein experimenting on a dead body in his laboratory. He succeeds in bringing the body back to life, but the creature soon goes mad and attacks him, forcing him to kill it. Despite this setback, Frankenstein is determined to continue his research, and the story follows his increasingly desperate attempts to create the perfect human being.

To achieve his goal, Frankenstein enlists the help of two henchmen – an ex-con named Morpho (played by Gordon Mitchell), and a former medical student named David (played by Renato Romano). Together, the three of them scour the city for body parts, using whatever means necessary to obtain the necessary materials for Frankenstein's experiments.

One of the most notable aspects of Frankenstein 80 is its use of modern technology in the creation of the monster. Unlike the original Frankenstein story, which takes place in the 19th century, this film is set in the present day (well, the '70s), and as such, Frankenstein is able to harness the power of machines and computers in his experiments. In one particularly memorable scene, he uses a massive computer to animate a human brain, which he then uses as part of his monster.

The film is not without its flaws, however. The acting is often wooden and stilted, particularly from the supporting cast, and the pacing can be slow at times. Additionally, the monster itself is somewhat underwhelming – it looks more like a man wearing a cheap Halloween mask than the terrifying creature from the original novel.

Despite these shortcomings, Frankenstein 80 is an interesting addition to the Frankenstein canon, and provides a unique take on the familiar story. It is a film that will appeal to fans of classic horror and science fiction, as well as those who enjoy more obscure cult films.

Frankenstein 80 is a 1972 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.2.
