Watch Ft. Clatsop & The Journey Home

The miserable winter at Ft. Clatsop makes the explorers happy to return over the Rockies. Yet their most dangerous encounter with the Blackfoot tribe costs two Indians their lives and proves a close call for other members of the group. Finally arriving back at Ft. Mandan, Sacagawea and the explorers sadly part, though Clark later adopts her son. The program concludes with a summary of the important achievements of the expedition; today many monuments and places honor Sacagawea's memory.
