This gardening travel documentary film debuted in 2006. In this episode of Garden Travels, host Dave travels first to Vail, Colorado. Located at an elevation of over 8,000 this small town is home to a thriving alpine garden with plants that thrive in the high elevation and frigid climate of the alpine. Then, Dave heads the city of Sante Fe in New Mexico where he visits a colorful garden that is blooming with drought tolerant perennial plants. Dave finds out how gardeners grow flowers in the high elevation and dry conditions in Sante Fe which has an average elevation of over 7,000 feet above sea level and very little precipitation in the winter and spring months.
