Generation Aami is a coming-of-age drama film directed by Mainak Bhaumik and released in 2018. It stars Rwitobroto Mukherjee as Aami, a teenage boy from Kolkata who is struggling to come to terms with the changes in his life. Sauraseni Maitra plays Peu, Aami's childhood friend who is going through her own struggles. Aparajita Adhya plays Aami's mother, who is trying to cope with the changes in her son's life as well as her own.

The movie opens with Aami expressing his frustration with his life in a voice-over. He feels disconnected from his family and friends, and he's not sure what he wants to do with his life. He's also dealing with the aftermath of his parents' divorce, which has left him feeling alone and confused.

One day, Aami's mother tells him that she's planning to move to Mumbai for a new job. Aami is devastated by the news, as he doesn't want to leave Kolkata or his friends behind. Peu is also dealing with her own problems, including her parents' strict rules and her desire to be more independent.

As Aami and Peu try to navigate their changing lives, they begin to confront some difficult truths about themselves and the people around them. Aami learns that he can't keep running away from his problems, and that he needs to face his fears head-on if he wants to find happiness. Peu, too, learns that she needs to stand up for herself and follow her own dreams, even if that means going against her parents' wishes.

Throughout the movie, we see the characters grow and change as they navigate some of life's biggest challenges. They deal with everything from school pressures and first loves to more serious issues like family strife, mental health, and peer pressure. As they grapple with these issues, they learn to rely on each other and to find the strength within themselves to overcome adversity.

Overall, Generation Aami is a touching and heartfelt movie about growing up, finding oneself, and learning to navigate life's challenges. With its strong performances and relatable themes, it's easy to see why the film has been so well-received by both critics and audiences alike. Whether you're a teenager struggling to find your place in the world or an adult looking back on your own adolescence, there's something in this movie that will resonate with you.
