This documentary takes a closer look at the refugees who swarm into a camp in Hungary, where the Hungarian legal system moves at a snail's pace and rarely grants asylum to the desperate men, women and children who gather here. In the midst of this limbo are two individuals working to assist the refugees, Abed Al-Sahil who has emigrated from Palestine and serves as a camp translator, and a volunteer worker from America, Charu Newhouse. Although there is nothing romantic about their circumstances, these two people fall in love and eventually start a new life together in New York City.
Goodbye Hungaria is a 2004 documentary with a runtime of 56 minutes.
