I Am an American Soldier is a documentary film about the Iraq war. This documentary is based on a group of American soldiers from the 3rd Brigade, 101st airborne division, who are sent to Iraq to fight, and possibly die, and they have a full year's tour of duty ahead of them. This documentary explores their final stages of training, and their final farewells to their families at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and it follows them through their deployment in Baghdad, Samarra, and lastly to Tikrit. This documentary also shows these soldiers returning home to their loved ones. This documentary shows the true courage of the American soldier, and their struggle of being far away from home, and in a place where life and death matter.
