Immortal, also known as Immortal Ad Vitam, is a French produced, English language fantasy action, adventure film directed by notable comic artist Enki Bilal. The story takes place in a future New York where all the inhabitants are required to undergo genetic updates that transform them from the humans of the present. In this bustling crowd is Jill, a young, gifted blue haired woman whose tissues appear to be only months old. She is visited by a mysterious, cloaked man who hints at the truth of her origins.

Following this woman is the god Horus, who, for his crimes, is sentenced to death but given thirty days to find a suitable mate among the humans of the city. However, since gods cannot directly copulate with humans he must find a suitable host first. This he does, in the form of Nikopol, a former resistance leader who lead fights against the tyrannical Eugenics corporation that runs the city. Nikopol has been frozen in cryo-stasis and so his body is suitable for Horus who wishes to mate with Jill whom he says has the greatest gift a person can have, the power to procreate with gods.
