We meet everyday people who inhabit the space between the polar extremes of male and female. Telling their own stories in their own words, members of this pioneering generation of trans activists shed light on a spectrum of trans lives in America, from cross-dressers to people born intersex to the mahu of Hawaii. We meet ordinary people-singles and couples-who share their cultural heritage and who share their personal stories.
