Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie tells the story of Jonah in a whole new way. The creators of VeggieTales took the classic bible story of and tell it in a way a child can understand it. The characters’ in the movie are played by 3D vegetable computer images. The movie tells two stories in one. The movie starts off with Bob the Tomato and Dad Asparagus are driving some of the children to see a “Twippo” concert. Meanwhile, Laura the Carrot is teasing the other kids because she has a backstage pass. Dad Asparagus turns around to correct Laura when he mistakenly knocks off the steering wheel. They careened off the road and Laura's ticket flies out the window. When they finally stop by the river bank they see a seafood restaurant on the other side. They go in to take refuge, as they are entering Bob the Tomato is blaming Dad Asparagus for crashing the van, Junior Asparagus blames Laura. Dad Asparagus goes to call his wife while Bob calls a tow truck. Junior goes and sits at a booth by himself when he hears talking on the other side of the divider. The divider slides down and Junior comes face to face with the Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything. They tell him that he was harsh to Laura and he should have compassion. While they are talking the others come and sit down. They see that the Veggies are confused with the word compassion. To clarify they tell the them the story of Jonah. The scene switches to bible time of Jonah in Israel. The Pirates tell them how Jonah resist going to Nineveh and ran from God. He finally gives in and goes to tell the town Gods word. Afterwords Jonah complained that the town should be wipeout. The scene goes back to the restaurant when the Pirates tell the Veggies that Jonah didn’t have compassion on Nineveh. Bob forgives Dad Asparagus and Junior gives Laura Carrot his Twippo ticket. The movie ends with Twippo walking in and singing a number.
