Just for the Record is a 2010 British comedy film directed by Steve Lawson, and starring Karen Anderson, Barry Austin, Alice Barry, and Paul Bayfield among others. The movie revolves around a struggling record label, World Wide Records, and the desperate measures its owner, Manfred Powell (played by Paul Bayfield), takes to fancy the label's prospects.

As the film opens, Manfred finds himself in dire straits as his record label shares take a dip, and his bank account balance dwindles. Determined to turn the fortunes of his sinking ship around, Manfred reaches out to a group of eccentric filmmakers who are seeking funding for their new movie. They agree to let Manfred invest in the project on one condition - that he becomes the film's executive producer.

Things, however, do not go according to plan, and soon the record label boss finds himself at the mercy of the filmmakers. The movie soon takes Manfred and his crew of misfits on a whirlwind ride through the highs and lows of the music industry as they seek to turn the fortunes of World Wide Records around.

Karen Anderson plays the role of Eve, the hardworking and devoted assistant to Manfred Powell. Despite the struggles of the record label, Eve remains dedicated and committed to her job, going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the company stays afloat.

Meanwhile, Alice Barry plays the role of Wilma, a talented artist who just can't seem to catch a break. She is desperate for the chance to showcase her talent to the world, but her dreams only seem to be moving further away from her reach.

Barry Austin, on the other hand, plays the role of Nigel, a bumbling and clueless executive at World Wide Records, who seems to have little understanding of how the music industry works. His comedic timing and awkward fumbling make for some of the movie's most hilarious scenes.

As the film progresses, the characters' individual storylines begin to intertwine, and their paths cross in unexpected ways. Along the way, they meet some colorful characters, such as a washed-up rock star, a zealous journalist, and a self-proclaimed music guru. The result is a hilarious, light-hearted comedy that keeps the audience entertained from start to finish.

Just for the Record is a film that humorously portrays the desperate measures people can go to when their backs are up against the wall. A heartfelt and funny exploration of the music industry's less glamorous aspects, the movie is a great watch for anyone who appreciates a good laugh. Despite some of the stereotypical characterizations and predictable plotlines, the movie more than makes up for its shortcomings with its witty humor and its spot-on parody of the music industry.
