Keeping Rosy is a British dramatic thriller movie that was released in 2014. The movie is a twisted story of ambitious, well-carved Kate, portrayed by Maxine Peake, who has it all under control, living her dream of being a successful career woman in London. However, all that Kate has worked for is threatened when she unexpectedly loses her job; a devastating turn of events that leaves her unemployed and frustrated. Her unhappiness is compounded by the fact that her personal life is not any better as her boyfriend has abandoned her, leaving her to face her problems alone.

In an effort to keep up appearances, Kate hires a nanny, a young and naïve girl named Amber, to take care of her boss’s young daughter. However, as time goes by, it becomes apparent that Kate’s perfect life is nothing but a façade, having lost control of everything around her.

Kate's frustrations, combined with the pressures of being a single woman, soon begin to manifest in a more sinister way, as she begins to prey on the weak and vulnerable around her in an attempt to regain some control in her life. In her disturbed state of mind, Kate perceives everyone as a threat and will stop at nothing to keep her secrets hidden.

The arrival of a mysterious and enigmatic woman, named Charlotte, triggers Kate's already fragile state. Charlotte's presence threatens to reveal the lies and secrets that Kate has been hiding from everyone, which only increases Kate's paranoia and desperation to subdue this perceived threat.

The movie takes us on a thrilling ride as Kate tries to cover up her past mistakes and protect what she believes to be her last hope. The cinematography and filmography, coupled with strong performances from the actors, create a gripping and tense atmosphere that keeps the audience hooked.

Maxine Peake gives an outstanding performance as Kate, who is on the brink of a nervous breakdown, constantly switching between her multiple personas to keep her secrets hidden. Brooke Skylar Baptist is also superb in her role as Amber, the adoring and well-meaning nanny, whose youthful naivety becomes her downfall.

Delta Storm Baptist, who plays the role of Charlotte, is a mysterious and enigmatic character whose motivations are unclear, but whose presence is felt throughout the movie. She adds an extra layer of tension and unpredictability, keeping the audience guessing until the very end.

Overall, Keeping Rosy is a thought-provoking and intense movie that explores the darker side of human nature. The story is expertly crafted, with twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The movie's themes of powerlessness, desperation, and paranoia are artfully woven into the story, delving deep into the psyche of the characters and immersing the viewer into their world.
