Watch Las Truchas
- 1 hr 39 min
A Golden Bear award winner at the 28th Berlin International Film Festival, this Spanish film, whose name translates to "Trout," is a satirical look at high society during the Franco regime's dictatorial rule. The members of a fishing club seem to be completely removed from the pangs of hunger faced by the country's poor as they meet yet again for an annual club dinner. This year, the meal is rotten trout, though none of the club's members are willing to accept that the fish has anything wrong with it as they struggle through an awkward meal. The film lampoons Spanish society without resorting to overt preaching.
