Watch Last Days of the Maya

This documentary takes a look at an archeological expedition sent to Guatemala to search for burial sites beneath the ruins of the ancient city of Cancuen. After setting up the area's geography and presenting a recreation of life in Cancuen when it was a thriving city, the archeologists begin searching for graves. They discover a mass burial, but it turns out to be the site of ritual killings. Further investigation shows that the deaths occurred under very unusual circumstances for sacrifices and may be tied to the fall of the city.
