Loren Cunningham was born in California in 1935. His missionary parents worked among the poor in the Southwest, preached in the streets and lived in a tent with boxes for furniture. At age 13, he had his first conviction of a call to world mission. Later he had a vision of the world covered with waves of young people taking the Gospel to all the nations of the earth. Cunningham decided to work interdenominationally, so in 1960 he founded YWAM (Youth with a Mission). It become one of the largest missionary organizations in the world, recruiting young people to work for limited periods, in over 100 countries. The young people distribute Bibles and help with humanitarian projects. One of his most remarkable missionary visits was to Libya, a country hostile to Western missionaries. In 1991 he went with a YWAM team to remote Pitcairn Island in the South Pacific, and thereby achieved the distinction of having become the first missionary group to reach every country in the world. This program is part of the Christian Catalyst VIPS Collection.

Loren Cunningham is a 2006 documentary with a runtime of 28 minutes.
