Lost Gully Road is an Australian horror film from 2017 directed by Donna McRae. The movie stars Adele Perovic, John Brumpton, and Jane Clifton. The movie begins with Lucy (Adele Perovic), a young woman who has recently suffered a breakup, moving to a remote countryside home that she has inherited from her deceased aunt. Lucy intends to use the solitude to work on her artwork and recover from her heartbreak. Once there, however, she discovers that the house is not as idyllic as she thought, and strange things start happening.

As Lucy settles into her new home, she keeps hearing strange noises in the night. Initially, she dismisses them, assuming that the sounds are just local wildlife. But as the noises grow louder, they start interfering with her concentration and sleep, leaving her increasingly agitated and frightened. The creepy, isolated setting only adds to her mounting sense of unease.

One particularly unnerving incident occurs when Lucy returns home from an errand to find her belongings scattered around the house, as if someone – or something – has been rummaging through her things. As she investigates the disturbance, she discovers some old home videos left behind by her aunt; the footage shows a young girl playing in the woods, but something dark and sinister is lurking in the background.

As the days pass, Lucy becomes increasingly convinced that she's not alone in the house. Her suspicions are confirmed when she wakes up one night to find a strange man (John Brumpton) standing at the end of her bed. As it turns out, the man is the caretaker of the property, employed by Lucy's aunt to maintain the house and grounds. Lucy is understandably startled by the intrusion, but the caretaker assures her that he's only there to help, and promises to keep a watchful eye on the house.

Lucy's concern deepens, however, when she receives an unwelcome visit from a pair of mysterious and malevolent women, (Jane Clifton playing one of the women) who seem to know more about Lucy's past than they should. Lucy is unsure what to make of their sudden appearance, but their ominous portent only adds to her growing sense of dread.

As the movie progresses, Lucy's grip on reality is shattered as she experiences increasingly disturbing visions and nightmares. She becomes paranoid and delusional, convinced that someone – or something – is trying to harm her. As she struggles to unravel the mystery of the house, she discovers the dark secrets that it holds, forcing her to confront her deepest fears…

Lost Gully Road is a slow-burn horror movie that uses atmosphere and tension to slowly build a sense of dread in the viewer. The movie's isolated setting adds to its creepy atmosphere, and Donna McRae's direction injects a sense of foreboding into every frame. The performances of the talented cast are also noteworthy; Adele Perovic does an excellent job of conveying Lucy's descent into madness, while John Brumpton is suitably menacing as the enigmatic caretaker.

Overall, Lost Gully Road is a solid horror movie that will appeal to fans of classic horror films, as well as those who enjoy more atmospheric and psychological horror. Its emphasis on atmosphere and tension, combined with strong performances and a sense of mystery, make for an enjoyable and suspenseful viewing experience.

Lost Gully Road is a 2017 thriller with a runtime of 1 hour and 20 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.5.
