When times pass and buses replace carts in transportation, Maguni refuses to let go. Instead he ignores the new developments and continues to carry people in his bullock cart, despite their obvious preference to buses. As Maguni goes out of business, his family is forced to starve. However, this does not dent his spirit. Magunira Shaganda directed by Prafulla Mohanty is based on Godavarish Mahapatra's story of a man desperately hanging onto the familiar and who refuses to accept change. It also comments on the need to appreciate ones roots and its character Maguni is an embodiment of that.
