This moving look into the life of Mark Buntain reveals the triumph of a man who changed a city through courage, faith and prayer. Through interviews with family, rare home movies, vintage film clips, as well as conversations with friends and staff members, this program paints an intimate portrait of the life of one of the great missionary statesman of the 20th century. Mark Buntain served the poor and desolate of Calcutta India for 35 years before his unexpected death in 1981. Together with his wife Huldah, he successfully established schools and colleges, clinics, a hospital, vocational training programs, churches, and an extensive food distribution network, all of which are still in operation today. Today, his wife, Huldah, and their daughter, Bonnie Buntain Long, continue the ministry Mark passionately began. Through the hands of Calcutta Mercy Ministries (USA) and Buntains' Calcutta Mission (Canada) they work together to support diverse programs serving the poor throughout Calcutta and its surrounding communities.
